About these terms
These terms apply whenever you use Crops Corner — the website at cropscorner.com and the Crops Corner app — whether you're browsing, buying or selling. By creating an account or placing a booking, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Crops Corner.
You must be at least 18 years old, and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law, to create an account.
What Crops Corner is
Crops Corner is an online marketplace that connects people who want to buy fresh produce with the farmers who grow it. Farmers list their own produce — harvested, discounted or upcoming — and buyers book it from them.
When you book produce, the sale is between you and the farmer. Crops Corner provides the platform that brings you together, but we don't own, grow, store, handle or deliver the produce, and we aren't a party to the sale.
Your account
- You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code (OTP), and can set a 4-digit PIN for quicker sign-in.
- Keep your PIN and codes to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- Give accurate details, and keep them up to date. One account per person.
- You can browse without an account, but you'll need to verify your mobile number to see farmers' contact details or to book.
Buying produce
- A booking is a request. The farmer can accept or decline it. A request the farmer doesn't answer in time expires automatically, and any stock it was holding goes back on sale.
- Changing or cancelling. You can change the quantity of a request while it's waiting, and cancel a booking that's still requested or accepted. Once a booking is further along, ask the farmer.
- Collecting your order. You collect from the pickup point or hub the farmer offers, or receive it by delivery where the farmer offers that, around the "needed by" date you chose. Check your produce when you receive it.
- Completing an order. Once you've picked up an order you can mark it received. If you don't, it's treated as completed automatically after a short period.
Payment
You pay the farmer directly, using the method you agree with them at checkout. Crops Corner does not collect, hold or transfer payment for orders, and isn't responsible for payments made between buyers and farmers.
Prices are set by farmers and shown in Indian rupees. Any refund for an order is a matter between you and the farmer — see Complaints and disputes for how we can help.
Asks and offers
If you can't find what you need, you can post an ask describing the produce, quantity and date you want. Verified farmers in your district can see your ask, along with your name and contact details, and send you an offer. If you accept an offer, it becomes a booking with that farmer on the terms of the offer. Asks close automatically a short time after their needed-by date.
Selling as a farmer
- Verification. To sell, you verify your identity in the app, and your farm location is reviewed by our team, which may include a visit. See our Privacy policy for what we keep.
- Accurate listings. Only list produce you have grown and can supply. Your name, photos, price, quantity, harvest and expiry dates must be true and kept up to date.
- Honour your bookings. Respond to requests promptly, and supply what you accepted. If you must cancel an accepted booking, give the buyer a reason through the app.
- Listings end automatically when their expiry date passes, and may also end a set time after you list or reactivate them. You can reactivate a listing if you still have stock.
- Commission. Crops Corner may charge a commission on completed orders, at the rate shown to you in the app before it applies. You're responsible for any taxes and licences that apply to your sales.
Produce, prices and quality
Farmers decide what to sell and at what price. Crops Corner doesn't inspect, grade or certify produce, and fresh produce naturally varies in size, colour and ripeness. Upcoming harvests are the farmer's best estimate and can change with weather and growing conditions.
Farmers are responsible for the quality and safety of what they sell, and for following the food-safety rules that apply to them.
Acceptable use
When using Crops Corner, you must not:
- post false, misleading or duplicate listings, asks, offers or reviews;
- list anything that isn't your own farm produce, or anything illegal to sell;
- harass, threaten or deceive other users;
- arrange to take a sale off Crops Corner to avoid commission;
- impersonate anyone, or use someone else's account, Aadhaar or mobile number;
- copy or collect data from Crops Corner with automated tools, or try to interfere with how it works.
Complaints and disputes
If something goes wrong with an order, first try to sort it out with the other person. If that doesn't work, raise a complaint in the app. Our team reviews every complaint, may contact both sides, and will reply in the app. We can help resolve a dispute and take action on accounts, but because payment goes directly between buyer and farmer, we can't guarantee a refund.
Suspending accounts
We may suspend or block an account that breaks these terms, puts other users at risk, or that we reasonably believe is fraudulent. A blocked account can't sign in; its listings and asks are hidden, and its open bookings may be cancelled, with the people affected told. If you think we've made a mistake, contact us.
You can stop using Crops Corner at any time. Please finish or cancel any open bookings first.
Photos, listings and reviews
You keep ownership of the photos and text you add. You give Crops Corner permission to store, resize and display them on Crops Corner, and to show them when promoting Crops Corner, for as long as they're on the platform. Only upload content you have the right to share.
After an order, buyers can rate it. Ratings must be honest and based on a real order. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
Our responsibility
We work to keep Crops Corner running and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. As the sale is between buyer and farmer, Crops Corner isn't responsible for the produce itself, for whether a booking is fulfilled, or for payments between users.
To the extent the law allows, Crops Corner isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Indian consumer protection law that can't be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Crops Corner changes. We'll show the date of the latest version at the top of this page, and tell you in the app about changes that significantly affect you. If you keep using Crops Corner after a change, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
